Lokai

Hola!
So todays post is a little different...
Recently in my life I have been feeling down and upset
And I don't know why...
Well kinda...
Plain and simple,
Life is a b*tch.
I've seen people wear these and I'm sure lots of other people have too!
This is a Lokai bracelet.
The white ball contains water from Mt. Everest,
While the black ball contains mud from the Deep Sea.
Since Mt. Everest is the highest place on Earth
and
The Deep Sea is the lowest,
It represent the highs and lows in life.
The message is

"When you are in high moments in life stay humble,
When you are in low points, stay hopefully"

I bought this when I was in a low point in my life
So low that I wanted it all to end...
This came at perfect timing,
like it was fait.
People always ask what it is and I always tell them exactly what I just wrote
Some don't get it and make fun of me
While others totally get it.
For me it means a lot and I wear it almost every day.
The idea of it is so simple,
yet has a HUGE impact.

Different kind of post but I thought it was worth sharing!!
          ---Hope ya'll enjoyed it :)

Daily morning products I use.

Hola!
So I thought i'd make a blog post about what I use to get ready in the morning...
(which you could probably guess by the title of this post....classic Brandon)

1) After getting out of the shower I dry off and blow-dry my hair.

2) I rub the gel in my hands and then disperse into my hair.

3) When I finish that I usually go put on my deodorant. (Which fyi sells fricken amazing)

4) Once my armpits smell nice and fresh I pick out some clothes and put them on.
(To see what I usually wear click here)

5) After that I brush my teeth to make 'em look nice and white.

6) Since i've done all that, my hair goes all weird so I end up touching it up with more gel and then hairspray the sh*t out of it.
(Not actually though cause I hate the after feel of hair with hairspray)

7) Final step is putting cologne on. I save this till the end because I like that to be the last sent that goes on me.
(weird I know... but I'm weird soooo...)

And there we go folks, what I usually do in the mornings to make myself look/smell half decent.

:)

Fall Photoshoot

Hola!
So the other day me and my friend (the girl in the pictures) did a "Fall Photoshoot" and it was so much fun! The weather was perfect because it wasn't to hot and wasn't to cold. Plus the tree leaves were a perfect color!

NOTE: These are edited in photoshop but, since I'm not the most skilled at photoshop what you see is pretty close the to the real deal.

**By no means am I calling myself a professional photographer but I thought these were pretty good and decided to share them.**

-Enjoy

So you've made it to the end...yay!! I would love feedback on these pictures so be sure to leave a comment on what your thoughts are :)

Braces!!

Eeeeekk!! So the day finally came and I got braces. I got them on July 3rd, one month after my birthday. I only got the top ones one because my dentist recommended that I get my top ones done first then, a month later, come back and get the bottoms ones done, so that is what I'm doing.

Information:
So a little back story on why I got my braces... When I was little, both my sisters had braces and lots of people I knew had them to. They told me that braces suck and wish to never get them, but for some reason with all the people saying no, I actually really wanted braces. When I was about 11 my mom took me to the doctors and I asked if I could get them, sadly he said I was to young and my teeth were still changing, he then told me that my teeth are good and the worse thing I would get was a retainer. I was really sad. :(

Pre-process:
Now fast forward 5 years, I went to the dentist and he told me that my teeth were moving, and not in a good way. He suggested that I get a consultation to see if getting braces is a good decision. After the consultation they said I will need to get braces at some point in my life because of the rate they were moving/changing. So me and my mom talked it over and came to a conclusion that yes, I will get braces.

After we told my doctor that we were going to get them he scheduled meetings to talk about finances and the steps to lead up to actually getting them. First thing is he just did a regular clean of my teeth to make sure they were ready for the brackets to actually go on. Next he made a mold of my teeth with this weird clay stuff (which I almost gagged because it filled my whole mouth and went a little down my throat) Then the last meeting he talked about pricing and plans that we could use to pay for them (i'm not going to say how much they were, if you really want to know then google it) *Also keep in mind this was a process over months, I didn't get all those things done in one day.*

I had a really good doctor who knew what he was doing and was always very nice, but he was a little odd/strange. I can really explain it but I didn't have the best feeling about him and almost moved to a different dentist because of it, but after already getting the molds and have various meeting with him and the fact that I've been going to that dentist office my whole life, my mom said no! just stick it out, and I'm happy that she told me that because I was really impressed.

Process:
So July 3rd I woke up, had breakfast, and headed on over to my dentist place. Surprisingly I didn't have to wait very long for them to be ready. Once I sat down in the chair they just brushed my teeth with the gritty toothpaste to make the surface of my teeth nice and smooth. After that they coated my teeth with, what I think was, glue or some kind of paste. Then came the fun part, they stuck this thing that keeps your lips and cheeks away from my teeth in my mouth and began to place each bracket, one by one, on each tooth. After each bracket was on my tooth to the doctors satisfaction, they took this weird light heating thing and basically dried the cement that held each bracket on each tooth. Since I only got my top teeth done it took about and hour. Throughout the whole thing I surprising wasn't scared or nervous, I was just pretty chill about it.

First impressions:
The first day I had them it didn't really hurt that much it was more of constant tension on my teeth. The second day I woke up and they were hurting more, so I took Tylenol to help subdue the pain, that really helped. Also I was/still am very cautious about what I eat and I'm always googling wether or not I can have stuff, but from what I've read is that you can eat anything you want but MAKE SURE to BRUSH YOUR TEETH GOOD after. Avoid biting in corn on the cob or apples. And in the first couple days try not to eat very hard things because your teeth are not used to having this much tension and to be straight up, it f*ck*ng hurts to eat things that you have to chew!

Overall having braces isn't what as good as I thought it would be but it's not that bad. My mouth doesn't feel the same and I'm always feeling them and moving my lips around them, but you if you ware scared of how they feel you get used to them pretty fast, I know I was used to them the first day.

Yummy bagel!

Today I thought I would make a food type blog post. What I'm going to make is a bagel with Nutella and banana. It is pretty self explanatory on how to make it, but if you want to see how I do it then keep reading!

Step 1)
- First thing I do is choose the bagel I want. I went for these Cinnamon raisin bagel because they are my favorite.

**Note: that these aren't anything special bagel just good old fashion ones and you can use any type of bagel you wish.

Step 2)
- Set your toaster to whatever temperature you like and put them in. I personal don't like the pre-set bagel setting so I just turn the dial to just above the #2 setting. Doing this, on my toaster, leaves it warm and just a little firm, not to crunchy or crispy.

Step 3)
- While the bagel is toasting, I like to go and get my spread that I'm going to be putting on the bagel. I have chosen Nutella because....its Nutella and it's flipping AMAZING! :P

Step 4)
- Once they have toasted just take them out and put them on a plate. (and yea I know I'm using a Pocahontas plate, but I like to use this plate because its not our nice plates so if I drop it, it won't brake, which has happened before.)

Step 5)
- Don't let the bagel cool down to much because I find that when you put Nutella on a warm bagel it spreads easier and kind of melts into it just a bit.

Step 6)
- I don't always do this step, mainly because we usually don't have bananas in our house, but I bought some the other day and thought i'd add them to the bagel. All you need to do is cut them up and add them on-top on the Nutella.

Step 7)
- Just put the bananas on the bagel, like you see in the picture.

**Note: If you want to make your bagel to look a bit more fancy and dressed up (or you are craving lots of Nutella like I was) you can add a bit of it on top of the bananas.

And there you go! Just a very nice and easy way to make a Nutella and banana bagel. I usually have this as an after school snack, but since its summer i'll have this for really any meal/snack.

---I hope you enjoyed this little food post, Also don't be afraid to leave a comment if you tried it and tell me if you liked it or what changes you would make :)

Summer Bucket List...?

Okay so I saw a video on YouTube by Alfie Deyes about 25 things to do in the summer. I thought it was a really fun idea so I decided to make a list of my own. Now I have never made a proper "Summer Bucket List" or even a "Bucket List" for that matter, but I gave it a shot and I think it turned out pretty good in my opinion.

I also want to take a picture of each thing when I've done it and post it one here.

  • 1) Spend a night in a tent
-now it might sound cheesy and you may be thinking everyone has done it, but your wrong, I actually haven't spent a full night in a tent in my life.

  • 2) Stay up all night and watch the sun rise

  • 3) Tell scary stories by the camp fire

  • 4) Go skinny dipping

-this is a little risqué but I have always wanted to do it so why not this summer!

  • 5) Stan in the rain

  • 6) Go mudding

-I know I'm going to do this one because me and my cousin already have it planned :P

  • 7) Have a picnic

  • 8) Star gaze

  • 9) Kiss someone under the stars

-I don't know if i'll take a picture of this one and post it ;p

  • 10) Have a water fight

  • 11) Do something I would never do

-this one is going to be a bit harder cause there are so many things I usually wouldn't do, but when find something i'll post it for sure!

  • 12) Watch the sunset on a beach

-I do this almost every summer at my grandparents lake but its one of my favorite things to do

  • 13) last but no least... Spend a whole day watching old/classic disney movies

-another easy one because who doesn't love disney movies

So that is it...this is going to be challenging but I really want to do it because some of these things are kind of out of my comfort zone and Im trying to challenge myself to do more.

Guy Outfit of The Day

Okay so I wanted to make a different kind of post today and came up with the idea of a dude Outfit of The Day (#DOOTD) I haven't seen many of these especially for just a casual day and not a fancy night out with a suit etc. So this is just a everyday look I wear for summer/warmer weather.

This shirt is from American Eagle. It's one of those baseball style shirt with 3/4 length, neon yellow, sleeves and a grey middle section.

Cost: Around $20

These are Volcom, tan colored, shorts. They fit nicely and are good for casual and or fancy occasions.

Cost: Around $30

Another picture of my shorts in maybe a better setting. I also use the brown, leather, american eagle belt. This is my favorite belt EVER! i've had it for about 2 years now and it hasn't worn out as much as I thought it would.

Belt Cost: $25

This is a Diesel watch with a brown leather strap and with a white face and black head (sorry that was a bad description but you get the idea).

Cost: This actually was a steal, it was around $200 and we got it for $75!!

I was wearing Toms. They are a navy blue color with a little bit of a faded affect. Toms are cool because, if you don't know already, when you buy a pair they give a pair to someone in need and how can you not support that. Plus there very light and easy to walk in.

Cost: $35

This is what it looks like all on and put together. I know its bad quality but I was taking these pictures with my macbook because I don thane a good high-quality camera.

Whole outfit cost: Around $185

*Disclaimer*
-This is not me bragging about the stuff I have if you thought that. This stuff was bought over a long period of time and I've have this stuff for a very long time.

Short and Sweat!

Just a reminder that society puts a lot of pressure on how people should act and be but remember, just be yourself and don't let anyone else's judgements hurt you or make you want to change.

Fit In or Stand Out?

One thing that i have learned over the past couple years is to BE YOURSELF! i know it sounds super cheesy and everyone says it, but there is a reason why everyone says it because IT IS TRUE! when i started my high school years i was so scared to be different and to be judged, i wanted to be normal and fit in and have people like me. I ended up not having very many friends and the people i was friends with weren’t what i was looking for in friends.

At the start of my grade 10 year i wanted to make a change….so i did. i left my old friends and started to hangout with other people! this was very hard to do because everyone already found their group of friends in grade 9.

So seeing how everyone else was acting and dressing i tried to be like them and guess what?! i became friends with them. OMG i got what i wanted right?!?! WRONG! i was just there, i wasn’t the person people liked to talk too, i was always the "back-up" person people would go to if nobody else was around! It made me really sad and depressed and i became even more self conscious about myself and how i was acting because i wondered WHY people weren’t talking to me. i mean i was acting and dressing like everyone and couldn’t understand why nobody really liked me or invited me to hangout… :(

In the start of grade 11 i still WASNT happy! :( i wasn’t happy with who i was and how people treated me so i finally said F*CK IT! and started acting how i wanted too. I started not giving a shit about what other people thought about my hair, clothing etc. I wasn’t trying to please people or be friends with everyone.

So I started sharing my opinion in conversation and not just agreeing with everyone else’s, like i did all my life. i started to become more welcome and people actually started talking to me first and inviting me to hangout. (Not saying that i get invited to a lot of things because i don’t) but I’m still changing and becoming ME!

And now we get to the present time more than half way through grade 11 and i have more friends than i had at the start of high school, even at the start of grade 10, and the BIGGEST thing is that I’m HAPPY with who i am and who my friends are! they accept me for who i am! (I’m not saying that I’m totally popular and have invites all the time cause, again, i DONT.) i still kind of have anxiety and I’m socially awkward with people, but I’m getting better and have started working on that part of my life!

I guess the main point I’m trying to get across is that don’t be afraid to BE YOURSELF! don’t care what other people think (especially in high school cause its only 4 years of your life) Don’t get caught up in trying to fit in cause you WONT BE HAPPY! I’m much happier than I’ve been in a very, very long time and its all because I finally MADE CHOICE! to be HAPPY!

First post (real original title eh!)

Alrighty here goes it! I'm very new to blogging so I don't really know how it all works, but I want to give it a try! I started a tumblr about a year ago but really got into it in these last 6 or so months. I would love to make pictures and things you do on tumblr but one thing that I started to do was write stories; not just your average "book story" with characters, no, stories about personal things that I never really told anyone, and how things have affected me. Once I started writing these (bare in mind I've only written three) I enjoyed writing them. Its almost as if its a way to vent and get things off my chest. (or in other words a "diary" but since I'm a dude ill call it a journal :P)

Since I have really enjoyed making these post and realized that tumblr may not be the best place to write paragraphs on paragraphs of personal stuff, I got this idea! to make a blog about things because really, blogs meant to be wordy and lengthly, in a sense.

I will be re-posting the ones I did on my tumblr soon, but I thought this would be a good introduction to what I would like to do and see how people like them!

Also I would like to say that I don't plan on just posting those stories, I would like to post anything really, from personal stories to reviews of things to my travel etc. all those I like to do and would love to share it with people.
